Should I transfer last years tax file since we had to manually amend our taxes last year? Amendment numbers will not be included in the turbotax file from last year.

We amended our tax returns last year after filing with turbotax. We used an outside source to prepare the amended forms.  The tax file on my computer does not reflect the amended changes.  How should I handle this?

You can do one of two things:

1. Use the amend feature in your 2017 TurboTax CD\Download version and enter the amended figures so your 2017 tax return looks exactly like your amended income tax return(s). You'll then be able to transfer the amended numbers to your 2018 TurboTax file.

OR:

2. Manually adjust the 2018 TurboTax to correct/adjust any carryover amounts.
