Should i file taxes for 2018 if ive been unemployed since August 2017?

If you have no income at all in 2018, and you did not get advance premium tax credits for Marketplace health insurance, there is no reason to file a tax return. Being unemployed does not necessarily mean that you have no income. Do you have other sources of income besides working?

If you didn't have any income can someone claim you as a dependent?  Or are you married?

...But, be careful about what you mean about having income...or not...
...removing $ from an IRA or 401k or other tax-advantaged retirement account will count as taxable income.
....receiving unemployment income may also count as taxable income.

I haven't had any other source of income. I've been living with my boyfriend. His dad passed away and he had a rough time and quit his job so hes currently unemployed as well. Hes only receiving his dads pension every month. He will be filing taxes for 2018. But I'm not sure if he could claim me as a dependent. It has been many years since nobody has claimed me as a dependent. and I really don't know how that works. We have no children but I'm currently pregnant. I've been receiving free healthcare from Medicaid for 4 months now. I get vouchers from WIC and recently got approved for food stamps. I'm not sure is food stamps would count as income.
