You can file them now if you want, or you can wait and file them later. As long as you file them on or before 4/15 you are all set. Most taxpayers in your situation file the return as soon as it is ready so they do not forget about it and it is one less thing to worry about.

You can file them now if you want, or you can wait and file them later. As long as you file them on or before 4/15 you are all set. Most taxpayers in your situation file the return as soon as it is ready so they do not forget about it and it is one less thing to worry about.

But it's also possible you might need some info from your 2017 return.  Since the deadline for 2018 is still several weeks off, why not wait until the accountant finishes the 2017 return since it may impact what you need for your 2018 return.  Especially if you have any things like depreciation,  loss carryovers, tax credit carryovers, etc.   If an accountant is preparing your 2017 return, I assume it has some complicated issues.
