Did you print and mail the 1040X amended return?  Amended returns can only be mailed. It can take them 16 weeks for the IRS to process them. And they only mail checks for refunds. After 3 weeks you can track it here, https://www.irs.gov/filing/individuals/amended-returns-form-1040-x-/wheres-my-amended-return-1

No, no need to be worried, this is completely normal. It can take the IRS 12-16 weeks to process your amendment. Three weeks after you mail your amendment, you can start tracking its status at the IRS Where's My Amended Return?site or by calling their automated number 1-866-464-2050.

If you are not seeing a status at all on the IRS website and its over 4 weeks, you should contact the IRS.
To contact the IRS:  1-800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info).  Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don’t enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.

@mallorymichelle5 You keep saying you “did all that” but have not actually asked a question or explained your problem. What do you need help with that has not already been explained in this thread about an amended return?
