Santa Barbara Tax Products Group Charge for Fed Refund

I've used Turbo Tax for well over 20 years and been satisfied with the performance. Why the $40 charge for Santa Barbara Tax Products Group to get a direct deposit of Fed refund? It's a ripoff and I'll use federal government check in the future. Not happy!!!!

The $40 service charge is because you selected to have the TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund.

It is Not a charge for direct deposit.

The fee for using "refund processing" has been in effect for many years.   If you choose to pay your TurboTax fees by having the fees deducted from your federal refund, you incur a $40 ($45 in CA) fee charged by the third party bank that handles refund processing.   You can avoid that fee by paying your TurboTax fees upfront using your own credit or debit card before you e-file.
