The e-filed tax return would show Accepted. Being Approved is a completely different process.
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

Accepted means received for processed. It does not mean Approved, which is a later step. Only the IRS controls the timing of this, and it is seriously backlogged. Going forward, you can change your withholding so that you do not have to wait for a refund at tax time.
Mine sais approved but no return date and It was accepted back on 2/10
