refund reduced by $2800 the exact amt of the Recovery payment

My refund was reduced by the exact amount of the covid rebate $2800. We did receive the rebate.

I listed on line 30 of the tax form.

why did the IRS reduce my refund by that amount. I ve tried calling ...............all lines are busy

The Recovery Rebate Credit is entered on Form 1040 Line 30 if you did Not receive the 3rd stimulus payment in 2021.  Since you received the payment the IRS removed the credit from Line 30 and adjusted your tax return accordingly.

you were eligible for the stimulus or the Recovery Rebate - not both. 

if you received the stimulus, Line 30 (the recovery rebate) should have been zero.
