Received an IRS CP12 and misinfo they changed on line 30 of my 1040-SR tax return preventing my Recovery Rebate - how do I amend this info?

If the IRS made a change to line 30 on my 1040-SR and I want to change it to get my Recovery Rebate, do I file an amended return?

How much is on line 30?  You didn't get the 3rd Stimulus payment last year starting in March 2021?  The Recovery rebate credit on line 30 is only if you didn't get the full Stimulus payment or qualify for more.

Double check your bank statements and Check your IRS account (both accounts if married)

If the IRS thinks they sent it to you but you didn't get it request a trace for a missing third Stimulus payment

@ernestdudash - understand you are eligible for the 3rd stimulus or the Recovery Rebate - not both

Line 30 should be $1400 times the number of people on your tax return LESS what you received last March - May, 2021, but not less than zero.

if what you entered into TT as what you received last spring does not match the IRS records, they will adjust it by the difference.  

Chances are you received what you are entitied to.  CHeck your bank statements from last March - May, 2021. Do not do from memory.
