Recd Notice CP501 even though the refund was accepted

A CP501 notice is usually the first written statement you will receive from the IRS regarding your past due balance. In most cases, the CP501 notice is written as a reminder that your balance is due and that you need to take action. Each year is treated by itself. You must identify Which Year the notice applies to, and Why the IRS says you owe for that year.

Accepted means received for processing. It does not mean Approved.
