The refund advance has to go on a Credit Karma card.  What you do with it after that is on you.   The rest of your refund, when issued, will also go on the CK card.  That is what you agree to if you accept the advance.

The debit card is attached to the CK account you opened and it works like any other bank account.  Talk to them for more information on how to access/use the CK account.
