Since the changes with the tax reform beginning in 2018, you are no longer required to have insurance for income tax purposes.The health insurance question was removed this year because there is no longer a penalty assessed. If you have a 1095-A through the Marketplace, however, you still need to enter it.
If you received a 1095-A form follow the steps below to report it:
- Log in to your return.
- Go to Federal Taxes.
- Go to Deductions and Credits.
- Scroll down to Medical.
- Go to Affordable Care act (Form 1095-A).
