I printed my return to mail but want to change the stimulus answer before mailing. How do I change the return after downloaded and printed?

I tried amending but the stimulus question didn't come up and I haven't filed yet so amending doesn't seem right.

Don't do the amendment. Select ''Add a State'' instead. The instructions in the link below are for switching to E-filing. But you can use those same instructions to unlock your already filed-by-mail (as long as you have NOT mailed it) return. You will need to go through the filing steps again after you make your changes and you can still opt to E-file if you want to. If you can e-file, you should e-file.

And if you started an amendment, be sure to cancel it BEFORE adding the state to unlock the return.
