Does Kentucky get ANY money back on refund for the 10200 tax break that was in the stimulus package?

i saw that they’re one of 12 states that isn’t doing it, but does that mean we won’t get just the state taxes we paid in? or does it mean we will get absolutely nothing, not even the federal taxes we paid in during unemployment in 2020?

Your originally filed KY state return that taxes unemployment benefits will not change since KY did not conform to the American Rescue Plan Act to exclude the unemployment from KY taxes.

Your Federal return however will be corrected by the IRS to exclude the unemployment benefits, up to 10,200, from federal taxes.  If you had a refund due originally it will increase as a result of the exclusion and the new amount will be issued by the IRS.

In TurboTax you can sign in to your account and select the download/print option.  The updated return showing the new refund amount will be available there.
