If you are entitled to a refund, it would be wise to file for it as soon as possible.
After e-File closes, you would have to file a tax return on paper.
For this year's 2013return, Online won't open until December and you can't Efile probably until mid January. Then you don't get the advance until you efile and the IRS accepts it.
The refund advance loan program for 2022 returns ended on February 15, 2023. There will not be a refund advance for 2023 tax returns until next year in 2024---IF they continue the program. But even if they do, the loans are not issued until the user's e-file is actually accepted by the IRS. The IRS usually does not begin to accept e-files until at least late January.
