Came in H4 on 2015 and converted to F1 on Jun 2017. Till 2019 filed as Married filed jointly and as resident alien. Seems I should have filed as NR. What should I do now

How to amend the previous year's tax returns. Will this impact my stimulus payment. I already received both the stimulus. Should I return the stimulus.

what is your 2020 status? resident or non-resident alien?  that answer will define what to do about the stimulus.

In 2020 I was in F1 status (less than 5 years in F1. 2015, 2016 & 6 months in 2017 - H4, After that I am in F1). My husband status is resident alien from 2015.

I guess I should have asked the 1st time, how did much stimulus did you receive?  as a resident alien your spouse was eligible for the stimulus, but at a nan-resident alien you were not.  Any children? what is their status?
