Tax Year Prior to 2020: Amended Tax Return 1099-S

I filed my 2018 taxes return and they were accepted by the IRS. I recently received a 1099-s form for sale of realestate in 2018. Do I have to file a amended tax return for the 100-99 I received.

Tax Year Prior to 2020: Amended Tax Return 1099-S

Yes.  If you received a Form 1099-S you must Amend on Form 1040X to include it. Whether or not there will be additional taxes due will depend on net profit, length of time you lived in the home, and if you ever used it for business purposes.  Here are the instructions on How to Amend.    Please also see this FAQ Is the Sale of My Home Taxable.
