Amend rejected

My federal and state were accepted 2/11. I received state but still no update from federal. I received an email telling me to amend my Louisiana state return due to the unemployment tax break. I did that but now it’s saying my federal was rejected. I only amended my state. The reason of rejection says “data of return is missing or invalid” but I’ve gone over it multiple times. It just keeps saying rejected everytime.

You do not need to do anything for your federal return if you are amending for the unemployment income.  The IRS will automatically adjust your return and send you a refund as applicable.

You can disregard the message if it is only related to your federal return.  Just make sure you complete and send in your state amended return.
