2018 Tax Limbo

I mailed our 2018 taxes in March 2020 (late).  Since mail was the ONLY option, how do I find out if the IRS accepted them?  After mailing them, we received word that the IRS was no longer doing mailed in taxes due to the pandemic.  Now im trying to do our 2019 taxes, but need to have the 2018 taxes accepted first in order to have the previous year AGI.  What do I do now?  Im in tax LIMBO!

They will eventually get to your mailed 2018 return. Since you didn't file 2018 on time then enter 0 for the AGI to efile 2019.  The AGI is just to verify your identity.   So you don't have to wait to efile 2019.

Your 2018 AGI will not make it into the system this year for you to use when you try to e-file 2019.  Try using zero instead.  If zero does not work then you have to print, sign and mail the 2019 return.
