Sorry ---either you misunderstood or you were misinformed. E-filing has been permanently closed for 2020 returns since 2021. You cannot e-file a 2020 return The only way to file it is by mail. Print, sign and date it in ink and mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
I guess it is still under review for refund. I haven't heard anything yet.
I did contact TurboTax prior to purchasing the deluxe version. Making sure that it does e-file. I was told it does e-file .TurboTax is charging anywhere from 87 to 125 dollars or more for past year formats you would think that it efiles considering you can do past taxes for zero cost in multiple sites for mail in option. .

I was told buy a TurboTax associate 2020 will in fact e-file. . So I purchased it for $87. Only to find out it doesn't e-file. Now why would I pay $87 to mail my taxes when you could go to an IRS site and multiple others that do it for zero cost on mail in tax. I paid the $87 for the e-file option I was told I would get that I did not receive
No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue. If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help. Do not use the word “refund.”
