Form 6198 is prepared if you had activity within your tax return, such as a business, investment in a S-corporation or partnership, or a rental that had limits on the amount of a loss you were permitted to deduct. It's intended to ensure you don't deduct more in losses than you have invested in the activity.

To print this form out, you will need to follow the steps in How do I get a PDF of my return? Once you have your pdf, locate Form 6198 and send the IRS a copy of this form based upon the instructions in their request to you.
