Not sure if I have to file since my mother claimed me as a dependent and I received the w2 after she filed. Im a student living at home. My mother supports me.

If your W-2 income is less than $6,300 you are not required to file. You do however have the choice to file if you want to so you can get back any withholding. You must file your own separate return with your W-2 if you are required or decide to file. Be sure to select that someone else can claim you as a dependent on your return if you are required to file.
