I neglected to list my veteran status for the past 16 years on my tax returns. Is there an amendment? Would I get money back?

No, listing the fact that you are a veteran would not affect your tax return. There are not any special deductions/credits for being a veteran. If you received VA benefits, veteran's benefited are not taxable.
