Needed to amend return that was filed accepted.needed to remove dependent. started but ran out of time,so canceled.when i go back changes stayed and won't let me amend

Wait until you receive your Refund from the first return you filed, before you mail in your Amended Return. 

It takes about 12 weeks to process an Amended Return, and you have up to three years to Amend.  

Be sure to save a copy of your Original Return on your computer before you start Amending.
