I use the desktop version of TurboTax on a Mac. I am trying to get some information from my 2015 return, which I prepared using Turbo Tax 2015 for Mac. I just redownloaded and installed that software, but it won't launch. I click it, a screen comes up that says "No Tax Form Updates at This Time" and I click OK. Then it says "TurboTax 2015 quit unexpectedly." How do I get past this loop? I have restarted my Mac and made sure nothing else is running.

Sorry but 2015 is no longer supported so you cannot get any updates for it and no states either.
Going forward it is important to always save a PDF of the return that can be opened using any PDF reader.
Thanks for the replly. The problem is that I did save a PDF (I always do) but unfortunately I didn't save enough. I'm looking for the W2s. In other years' returns I have the W2s but for some reason this year the PDF doesn't have them. :(
Sorry but the program doesn't have the actual W-2 forms only the info you entered into the program or had imported. In the future always save a copy of the PDF with and without all the worksheets.
Now why do you need a copy of the W-2 for a year that old ? Can you get another copy from the employer ?
If you cannot obtain the W-2 from your employer, then for a fee you can get a complete copy of a W-2 from the Social Security Administration - https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02501
You can get a free Wage and Income transcript from the IRS - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
TurboTax has never had the W-2's only the data from them that you entered that goes on various forms. Some states (like CA) do require a W-2 (look alike) to be part of the state tax return, but that is only the information that you entered, not the actual W-2.
TurboTax does not have your W-2.
You should have your W-2's Your employer was required by law to get them to you no later then Jan 31, 2020. You are required to keep them for at least 3 years in case the IRS asks for them.
The PDF printout of your tax return contains the W-2 worksheets that contain the information that you entered, but not the actual W-2. You can download the PDF and all worksheets.

If you need a copy of your W-2 then ask your employer.
You can get a free "Wage and Income" transcript form the IRS but that is is not a copy of the W-2 and contains no state information.

You can get an exact copy of the W-2 from the Social Security Administration for $90 per copy.

It's for an employment background check. They are trying to verify my past employment. They ran into a roadblock, either the employer didn't respond, or something else. But they asked me to provide W2s to prove that I worked there.
I know that TTax only stores the W2 info, not the actual W2. But rather than climb up in the attic and root around in some dusty boxes for the original paper, I knew that I could produce a facsimile of a W2 in TTax. Hopefully that will be good enough for the employment verification. If not we will get dusty in the attic.
BTW, I called tech support and they solved the problem. It was somewhat complicated but the person on the phone was able to find the details about one particular file (something.js) that had to be deleted. Once we did that the program came up, I was able to produce a full PDF file with every single form in it, and I am happy.
