My wife's company paid taxes to both MS and CO but she only worked in CO. We notified the company but they never issued a corrected W-2. I ended up filing with MS and claimed 0 wages to get all the taxes back. I also filled with CO and paid most of the years taxes because they were never paid. The company is still trying to correct the issue and two weeks ago I got an adjustment letter from MS. The wages were adjusted to what my wife's company originally reported as CO wadges. That of course is still wrong since she has never worked in MS. I have no idea what has been reported to CO.

it probably won't help calling. the company has to issue corrected W-2's showing all wages as CO and what they actually paid to CO for her state withholding and also report MS wages as 0
in my opinion the company should refund to you the MS taxes they withheld and let it be their problem to get it back from the state.
maybe some of the fault is your wife's. if she got pay stubs, which is the norm, did it show both CO and MS withholding?. if so she should have questioned it after she got her first paycheck with the MS withholding on it.
She would have to contact the state tax bureaus.
