My tax was efiled and accepted on 2/12/21. It is now 3/16/21 and I have yet to receive my refund. What is going on?

The Where's My Refund does not show me anything just "your refund is being processed." I spoke to someone at the IRS on 3/5/21 and they said that they were busy and I would have my refund in 4 to 6 days. Why!?

TT refund dates are just estimates, based on the usual IRS goal of 21 days.  But it is taking longer this year, due to all the extra stimulus filings and a remaining backlog in processing 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  In addition, IRS Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable.

However, if TT told you your return was Accepted, then the IRS has it for processing.  Once that happens, TT receives no further updates, and the IRS has been imploring taxpayers not to call.  So please continue to be patients, as lots of folks are waiting.   Also see:
