My tax return is not showing our social security benefits. I know I entered them and can't find them.

My social security income is not showing on my return and I know I entered it.

Since you are concerned about why your Social Security income is not included in your tax calculation, I have several suggestions/comments for you.

For most people the calculation of taxable Social Security income starts with only 50% of the social security income received.

You can preview your return by clicking on

  • My Account
  • Tools
  • View Tax Summary

When you look at the tax summary, above it in the upper right section you can click on Preview My 1040.  (Please look at the screenshot below).

Look at line 20a total social security benefits, which should be the total of any SSA-1099’s and 20b taxable social security benefits.
