My tax refund is held and goes to my student loans. I just got married this past July. If we file together will his refund go to my school loans or will he receive his?

And if we file separate will we still get the added return for getting married?

If you file a joint return, the entire refund can be applied to the student loans UNLESS you apply for INJURED SPOUSE.

There are disadvantages to filing separate but it will protect his refund if you do not want to file Injured Spouse.
