You can't file a Head of Household tax return and claim your spouse. If you were still married and living together, you should have filed a Married Filing Jointly tax return. The only way a married spouse can file a Head of Household tax return is that if they lived apart from their spouse the entire last 6 months of the year. If that is the case, then the spouse must file a Married Filing Separately tax return.
You will have to amend your return and file it correctly. You either file Married Filing Jointly if you and your spouse are living together or you file as Head of Household claiming only your kids and your spouse files a Married Filing Separately tax return if you lived apart for the last 6 months or more of the year.
