TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.
Yes, many people are experiencing delays this year as the IRS tries to reduce tax related identity theft. There could be a couple of reasons why you might be experiencing a delay;
First, because the IRS wasn't processing e-files until 1/29/24, so nothing happened with your return for the first five days.
If you had a delay in your return getting accepted, it may be a sign that someone else is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. This delay can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected.
Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, or Additional Child Tax Credit.
Note: Both instances may apply. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first, and additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.
As always, you best source for up to date tax refund tracking is Where's my refund?
If you have a situation where you need to take action, such as verifying your identity, you will see the notice there first.
