Where does it say approved?  Turbo Tax only can tell you if your return was Accepted or Rejected, not if the IRS approved it.  Approved is the last step.

Once Turbo Tax transmits your return they are done with their part.  Now it's up to the IRS.

After you submit your efile, it will say pending until the IRS Accepts or Rejects it.  Usually within 48 hours.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/return-status/help/what-does-pending-mean/00/26331

You can check your efile status here

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

When you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  what does it say?

@Lanisa This is normal. Accepted means your return was received and the basics (such as the correct social security number) seem to be in order. It can take anywhere from a few hours to 3 weeks to update. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Continue checking the Where’s My Federal Refund?  tool for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.

Note: The IRS expects to issue most refunds in less than 21 business days after being accepted. Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) will experience a delay in processing.
