As long as it takes IRS to complete processing it, there is no set amount of time, each return is processed based on its contents.

The average return takes about 21 days based of off IRS estimate. 

This is calculated from the date the E-File is accepted by the IRS. 

However, by law, the IRS cannot issue refunds claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until approximately Feb. 27, 2018 -- if you chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with the tax return.
