My husband & I are filing jointly for the first time, however turbotax seems to only have pulled my 2017 (last years) return info and not his. Does it need to pull both?

Did you get married in 2018?  You can not transfer from or combine 2 returns or accounts.  Just pick the return for the spouse that has the most complicated return to enter or has any depreciation or business or  more investments.  Or use the account for whoever you want to be listed first going forward (by the way you can not change the order of the names).  Then add the other spouse's name, ssn and info to it.

That's fine. It's only going to pull the information from the account that you updated to include the spouse. As long as 2018 is reported correctly and your husband did not have any loss or credit carryovers to report, it will not matter.
