My house flooded in August of 2016 . I was told to amend my 2017 taxes and refile for the flood damage . HOW DO I DO THAT ??? PLEASE HELP ME !!!!

where on my tax form do I deduct the flood damage on my house ???

You would report the flood damage as a Casualty Loss.  Type 'casualty loss' in the Search window, and 'Jump to casualty loss' for the entry area.

Basically you are claiming a loss for what you had to pay 'out of pocket' for the damage.  For instance, if the damage amounted to $5,000 and insurance paid you $4,000, you are claiming a loss of $1,000 on your Schedule A, Itemized Deductions. 

In this case, the FMV before the loss would be $5,000 and after the loss $0.  Insurance reimbursed you $4,000.
