My bank account number is missing a 1 at the end on my form. The IRS has already sent my refund but hasn't shown up. How can I fix this?

the IRS sent your refund to a bad account number. That won't work. IRS will mail out a check instead.

First thing is: contact the bank.

I did a friends return and she changed account numbers and did not tell me.  The bank sometimes can look for the deposit coming and match it with the correct account and name on the deposit.

Worst case, if it does get rejected, IRS will then mail a paper check to address on the return.

It cannot be changed once filed, so call or visit the bank as soon as you can.
