My 2nd stimulus was supposed to direct deposit, but due to turbo tax issue you all fixed it. I haven't received my 3rd one. IRS site deposit 3/17 and then now its 3/30?

My question is since turbo tax assisted with getting me my 2nd stimulus as I provided updated banking information will the IRS issued my 3rd stimulus to the same account?  It said it would be deposited on the 17th to a wrong account and I never received it.  Now the IRS site says deposit 3/30 to that same account.  How do I know if they have the right account information or if it will be deposited?

We can't tell you that for sure since we are not the IRS but it is a very good assumption that the third payment will be made the same way as the second. 

The fact that the date changed from the 17th to the 30th would indicate that they needed time to update your banking information.

Thank you for the quick response.  I had figured since you are not the IRS kind of hard to say, but thought maybe some others might have seen this.  Just makes me nervous because just like the 2nd stimulus the last 4 of the account number are wrong.  It has had the same 4 numbers for the 2nd stimulus, the 17th, and the 30th.  Appreciate the help turbo tax was so helpful with my 2nd stimulus, so I wanted to reach out again.

I am having the exact same issue. Mine says 3/31 but same wrong account number. I tried the IRS but couldn't get through

I called got through sat on hold for 30 mins then they guy said don't give me any personal info. I said I guess you can't help me then.  I said I just want to see what account number you have on file for my deposit tomorrow.  He said let me transfer you to someone who can help.  He transferred me, but the call volume was to high said to call again later.

I am seeing that online the last direct deposit was 3/24, but then why would my get my payment tool say deposit scheduled on 3/30?

Per the IRS, if the account was closed or no longer active, the bank is required to return the deposit. Your payment will be issued as a check to the address we have on file for you. This is generally the address on your most recent tax return or as updated through the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Nope I didn't receive it today and it still shows being direct deposit on 3/30.  I totally knew this was going to happen.  I was counting this to pay bills and rent and of course all because I used Turbo Tax to file my taxes in 2019 and don't have the same account anymore.  Turbo tax stepped in to help with my 2nd stimulus and because of them that is how I got it.  I guess this time they are not doing the same thing.  So frustrating.

Why isn't tubo tax able to intercept like they did for my 2nd stimulus?  Turbo tax was able to get me the 2nd stimulus and was so helpful.

We can't change banking information for the third stimulus because tax season is in full swing. The second stimulus account changes were done prior to tax season opening.

• We know stimulus checks are important and we are doing everything we can to make sure eligible taxpayers get their stimulus checks. We have been working closely with the IRS and have confirmed with them that they have accurate banking information for all TurboTax filers. However, why the IRS isn't using your information, we don't know.
