Me and my girlfriend live together she made over the 4000 mark so I can’t claim her as a dependent. I added her income on our return but does she need to file by herself?

You do NOT add her income to your return. You can't file a joint return unless you're legally married. She must file her own tax return, if her income exceeds the filing threshold for her filing status, or if she wants a refund of her excess withheld taxes.
