Last years taxes were not taken out till this year can i claim them both this year

there was a problem with my 2015 property tax and they didnt get paid till like jan 10th 2016, then we paid our 2016 tax at the end of december 2016. should i claim both years worth of property taxes because we did not claim 2015s.

Yes.  They are deducted in the year paid.  So deduct them both this year.
