Its been a month since i filed... i havn't got my return yet. any reason for the delay?

Its been a month since i filed... i havn't got my return yet. any reason for the delay?

 According to the IRS website, there are sometimes delays in processing the returns they receive. They list the reasons for delays. See below.   

  • Includes errors   

  • Is incomplete   

  • Is affected by identity theft or fraud   

  • Includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax Credit.    

  • Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation, which could take up to 14 weeks to process   

  • Needs further review in general   

You can call the IRS, if it has been longer than 21 days, at 1-800-829-1040. 

When calling the IRS do NOT choose Option 1. 

Choose Option 2  

Then Press 1  

Then Press 4 

Then Press 2, it will then transfer you to an agent.
