Is my federal tax return done

Did you efile?  Was it Accepted?

Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button?

You can check your efile status here

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

When you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  What does it say?

Only you would know whether you have finished entering all the information on your return or not. When that is completed, go to the File section and choose whether to efile your return or print and mail it. Eiling is much preferred over printing and mailing since the IRS is currently not processing mailed return.

Go all the way through the 3 steps in the file process until you have submitted your efile for transmission to the IRS. Click on the big orange Transmit Return Now button. After clicking on the button, you should receive two email messages. The first will indicate your return was transmitted to the IRS. The 2nd will tell you whether it was accepted or rejected. If accepted you can start tracking the process at the IRS web site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If rejected, you must fix the reason for rejection and resubmit it. If you can't get it accepted, you must print and mail your return. TurboTax does not print and mail it for you.
