No, as long as you did not claim them, there should be no problem.

You can check your 1040 (or 1040A, 1040EZ) and make sure the children are not claimed on your return.

Click:

Tax Tools on the left side-bar

Tools on the drop-down

"View Tax Summary" on the screen

Preview my 1040 which will now appear on left side-bar

Look at the number of exemptions you are cliaming

No, as long as you did not claim them, there should be no problem.
