IRS says the money was direct deposited into my bank account, but I did not choose direct deposit I chose the reloadable card

The IRS will say "bank account" even if it is going to be direct-deposited on a prepaid debit card.   A prepaid card uses an underlying bank account and routing number for deposits, which is what the IRS sees.  They don't know if it is a checking account or a prepaid debit account.  They only know that routing and account numbers were provided as well as the name of the bank (that administers the card).

Did you use Free Edition, or did you have any fees?  If you paid any fees out of your Federal refund, the funds go first to an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted, and we can tell you how to check on the funds at the intermediary bank that handles that.
