IRS made a mistake in my return and want me to submit an ammeded return

First they said I owed  19000 usd and claimec my filing was n ot clear . They corrected themselves but are asking me file an ammeded return to get ,money back

No one can see your tax return.  You do not say why the IRS told you to amend.   What do you need to change?  And how were you "told" by the IRS to amend?   Did you receive a letter from the IRS?

the point is, make sure it is really the IRS and not somebody trying to steal your social security number.

amended returns must be mailed to one of the designated addresses in Instructions for Form 1040-X.
