IRS just accepted my return my question is how come that i can't make any changes or amend my return?

You need to wait for the IRS to finish processing your return and you get the refund before you can amend which might take a while.  Why do you need to amend?  And the amended return might not be ready yet.  It usually isn't ready until late February.

I just checked.  Like I said the 1040X amended return won't be ready until Feb 23

lucky you. IRS took your 1040 early.

unlucky you. now you have to wait another month.

If you are lucky again. IRS will correct your error for you.
