Im trying to amend 2020 state ret. Says not supported by free file program. I filed before they forgave unemplmt tax

Will simply upgrading my account now for last years taxs fix this? Or is it messed up since I used the free service? It will not allow me to click any further.

When I log in and click on amend my return on 2020 taxes it says...amending a prior return is not currently supported by IRS free file program delivered by turbo tax...will upgrading my account fix this? And why are they making it impossible for me to amend it without upgrading if thats the case? Is it just because I used the free file last year? A turbotax tech changed my program when I called last year for help. I had upgraded and was prepared to pay the fee then the tech changed it for me since it was just 1 w2 and unemployment. No property or business.

Turbo Tax Online only offers a single year tax program per 12 month cycle. You would have been able to log in up until October of last year to amend your 2020 tax return. After that, TTO only offered 2021. At this point, in order to amend the tax return with Turbo Tax, you will have to purchase the download or cd version.
