If you have not  filed your state taxes, please try the following to undo applying your state refund to next year:

  • Sign in to your account
  • Go to My Account (Please ensure you have gone past the orange, ''Take me to my return'' button before you select "My Account")
  • Select Tools>Delete a form > Estimated Tax Worksheet
  •  Click Delete>Delete Selected Form > Continue> Continue With My Return
  •  Click State Taxes > Edit Return

Please go through your return and see if it will now take you to "Apply Refund to Your 2017 Tax"

It should already be unchecked for you, please verify. The refund should not be applied but refunded to you.
