You don't get a separate check, but you can get the stimulus money as part of your tax refund. Not being a dependent "now" isn't enough, though. You can only get the stimulus payment if you could not be claimed as a dependent for 2020.
At the beginning of the Federal Review, TurboTax will ask whether you received a stimulus payment. If you didn't, TurboTax will give you a credit on your tax return for the amount of the stimulus payment. The credit will appear on Form 1040 line 30. You can also get to the question by typing "stimulus" (without the quotes) in the Search box, then clicking the link that says "Jump to stimulus."
The preceding information applies to the first two stimulus payments, that were paid in 2020 and January 2021. If the bill currently under consideration in Congress becomes law, there will be a third stimulus payment. The requirements for that will probably be different.
You need to claim Rebate recovery credit on your tax return and receive your missing stimulus payments. Make sure no one claims you as a dependent this year, if you're in fact independent and filing your tax return independently.
