If we efiled and claimed only one stimulus but received both in 2020 do I need to amend? If so, how?

We received our second stimulus but it was in January so I thought I would need to claim it next year but now the IRS gave us the recovery credit but we technically don’t qualify because we received our second stimulus. I spoke with a turbo tax rep and they we need to amend and I agree and I am trying to but I don’t exactly know how to remove the recovery credit and adjust my stimulus amounts received to show that we did receive both. Any help would be appreciated!

You do not need to amend your tax return.

If you made a mistake in reporting the amount of stimulus received, the IRS will identify the error and adjust your refund.

Okay! Thank you for responding! I think I already started the amendment process though and now it says we owe $3,900.

Cancel the amended tax return.  On the left side of the online program screen click on Cancel Amend.
