If my tax files aren't accepted by 12:00AM on April 16th will I get in trouble?

I put my tax files/return in on April 15th but they have yet to accept my files. Will I get any consequences for them not getting to me in time?

If you e-filed by the deadline, you filed on time even if you are still in pending waiting to be accepted or rejected.  Watch your emails.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
