If my parents put me as a dependent in their taxes for 2016 does that mean i have to do my taxes as well ?

No. You don't need to file a tax return, unless you had enough taxable income in 2016 to be required to do so. Please view the filing requirements for dependents, in the Turbo Tax FAQ below.

Even if you are not required to file a tax return, you may want to file if you've had income tax withheld. Just make sure to indicate that someone is claiming you as a dependent when you do.
